What are SHiFT Accounts and SHiFT codes?

SHiFT is Gearbox's free account layer for cross-play and limited-time codes such as Golden Keys. Redeem on the SHiFT site or in the Social menu after you link the account to your play platform. Each code redeems once per SHiFT account, not once per character or once per storefront. Hazard Pay also needs that linked account plus a newsletter opt-in. Live code strings expire, so redeem them on Gearbox SHiFT rather than a static list.

Can Borderlands 4 be played offline?

Yes for every single-player activity: campaign, local loot, and character progress. Online multiplayer is unavailable offline, which includes four-player sessions, SHiFT cross-play, and any mode that needs a live platform session. If you only need the story on a machine without internet, you can play; if you need a squad, you need to be online and, on consoles, subscribed.

How many Vault Hunter classes are there?

Where to go after the official answers

  • Platform and SHiFT questions should move to Co-op for the Steam spec, Xbox store ID, and splitscreen rules. Edition inclusions are tabulated on Editions. Dated DLC prices belong on Story Packs.
